On my hook

I started this beauty when I got home from work last night. This was the free pattern on Annie's Attic yesterday.
Casting off the Cold has it's regular Markham meeting on Sunday. I love these meetings as we get to see all the beautiful things that everyone has made over the past month.

Jacket and socks!!!

Here is a cross stitch baby jacket that I made yesterday. This took approximately 2 hours to make.

Close up of the cross stitch.

Here are some socks I made to match the purple dress that was posted on January 15th. You can't really tell in the pic but the socks are purple.

These were made to match the jacket/hat that was posted on January 26th.

And these ones match the jacket/hat posted yesterday.

Fleece baby jacket

This is a baby jacket that I cut from a piece of fleece that I had at home. I then Edgerydoo'd it and sewed it together. Isn't it cute??? I got the idea here.

And here is the newest addition to my happy family. Meet Dakota. He is approximately 4 years old.

Baby dress done!!

This baby dress is finished. I had started it for an 18 month old but I don't think it is big enough. I will start another one.

View of back of dress.

Close up of skirt.

I got home after work last night, unpacked my "craft" bag and started crocheting. The empty craft bag was on the couch beside me. Missy decided that was a great place for a nap.
Sassy being cute. She wants her belly rubbed....LOL

Baby jacket done!!!!

The hooded baby jacket is finally done. Woohoo!!! I noticed yesterday as I was putting the finishing touches on row 75 that I have made a mistake on row 47. Yep, you guessed it....I had to rip it back and start the hood again. Anyways, it turned out really cute as you can see.

Close up hood.

Close up body.

My parents and my aunt came by today. My aunt brought a new glider/rocking chair for the house. Survey says "The cats really like it." Thank you Aunty Pat....LOL

New pics (finally)

This is what I am working on right now. It is a baby's hooded sweater. It will be adorable when it is done. I hope to have this finished by the end of the weekend.
This is the body of it.

Close up of stitches. And yes, you can do cable stitches in crochet....LOL

Here is one sleeve.

Here are the first wrist warmers I have ever done. They turned out pretty well I think. I may do a hat to match.

Here are two little hats.

These hats were made on my knitting machine. Kainnon did one and I did the other.

Also made on the knitting machine. Again, Kainnon did one and I did one.

Kainnon started this one but the machine was being stubborn and kept dropping stitches on him. So rather than watch my machine fly, I took over.

This is a scarf I made using 3 different sized hooks.

That's it for now. Hopefully I will be posting the finished pics of the sweater soon.

A Prayer to begin the day

Relax your mind and humble your heart to focus on Christ. Allow God to be the only person on your mind while you read this prayer. If we can take the time to read long jokes, stories, etc., we should give the same respect to this prayer. Friends, who pray together, stay together.
Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so tha t I can hear from You.Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things.
Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example -- to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.
I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak.
Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those who are lost and can't find their way.
I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood.
I pray for those who don't know You intimately.
I pray for those who will delete this without sharing it with others.
I pray for those who don't believe.
But I thank you that I believe.
I believe that God changes people and God changes things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers.
For each and every family member in their households.
I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God.
Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.
This is my prayer.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Happy New Year!!!

This was the last project of 2008. A baby girl bearghan for a girl at work.

This is a baby dress that I have started. Not for anyone in particular, just because I have had this pattern book for a while and I wanted to do something different. The pattern is called Pink Parfait.

I was asked the other day to make a sweater for a dog. I have never made one of these before so I hope it turns out okay. I have to keep putting it off to the side because it really isn't challenging at all.

A scarf that is in progress for Casting off the Cold.

And this will be the next thing I will attempt. I love this. It is a Tuck Away Tote.

Don't mind the date on the bottom of the pictures. I couldn't be bothered to reset it after I changed the batteries again....LOL

I hope the New Year brings everything that you wish for. I have made one New Years resolution and that is to be true to myself. Make time for myself and the things that I enjoy doing. I love to crochet and to read, listening to music soothes me. I have also decided not to live my life in order to make others happy. My first priority this year is to make myself happy first. That may sound selfish...but I have lived for too long trying to please others...it's my turn.

This was my 3rd New Year Day that I have woken up with no hangover at all....and I must say...it feels pretty damn good....LOL
